After spending 18 years as a writer in advertising and marketing agencies in the UK and USA, I took some time out to create the écovallée family yurt camp in southwest France. With the business now flourishing, and comfortably at the top of Google rankings, I am now actively looking to work with clients and agencies who have a positive impact on this planet.

But am I any good?

When I left CMG in Putney to go freelance, the worldwide Creative Director flew me to the US to work for him. After 18 months in Minneapolis, I returned to London, where advertising giant Publicis Groupe hired me, made me redundant, re-hired me, made me redundant again, then invited me back a third time. Instead, I spent a year writing TV and film scripts – which I loved – on the back of a play broadcast by BBC Radio 4. My next freelance job quickly went from two days a week to a full-time Group Head offer. I’ve been acting and de facto Creative Director numerous times. But management is not where I want to be.
